An Attitude of Gratitude

Psalms 50:23 (AMPC)
23 He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me; and he who orders his way aright [who prepares the way that I may show him], to him I will demonstrate the salvation of God.

I have found in life when I consistently and habitually thank God just for who He is and for the good things that are in my life, my attitude stays positive.  God wants His presence to be with you throughout the day.  The easiest way to stay negative and live in a bad attitude is not to invite His presence with you through your daily life.

Joseph was continually thrown into bad situations.  He could have easily had a bad attitude and cursed God for leaving Him.  However, the opposite was true.

Genesis 39:3
And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to flourish and succeed in his hand.

Genesis 39:21
But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy and loving-kindness and gave him favor in the sight of the warden of the prison.

Genesis 41:39-40
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Forasmuch as [your] God has shown you all this, there is nobody as intelligent and discreet and understanding and wise as you are.  You shall have charge over my house, and all my people shall be governed according to your word [with reverence, submission, and obedience]. Only in matters of the throne will I be greater than you are.

Over and over Joseph kept an attitude of gratitude and believed the words of God over Him.  Lo and behold, over and over, God granted him favor with Himself and with man and everything he put his hand to prospered.

One of the best ways to keep your peace and joy is to foster an attitude of gratitude. When we are in constant thanksgiving to God the bumps in the road don’t seem so bad. Living in thanksgiving allows you to overcome. Thank God for something every hour of the day. It will change any “bad” day into a good one!
