Psalm 37:4-6 (AMPC)
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
And He will make your uprightness and right standing with God go forth as the light and your justice and right as [the shining sun of] the noonday.
Throughout my life, I have had serious trust issues. I had been hurt so many times by people who were supposed to be those in whom I could trust wholeheartedly. This caused me not to trust my heavenly Father. I didn’t even know it. I would say all kinds of faith statements but in my head, I was always thinking, “Yeah…right.” I had a huge mistrust of God. Why was everything going wrong in my life? Why couldn’t I get ahead? Why did it seem that I got all my ducks in a row just to shoot them down? To put it simply, I had no faith in God. I had no trust in God. I just simply did not believe the things I was saying and even telling other people. I was a phony. I was a fake. I was lost in a field of dreams I didn’t believe. However, I know God was setting me up for one of the most important breakthroughs of my life. He allowed my heart to be hard, just like Pharaoh’s toward the Israelites. He set up a red sea to come crashing down on my chariots of disbelief.
I finally broke. I finally forgave. Through the salt and water of my tears, I released all my hurt and pain. I gave it to the Father and He showed me a love I have never experienced before. I saw His plan was to petrify my ducks! They would no longer be knocked down from my running and mistrust. He is the perfect Father. He is the Glorious King. He showed me who I am. A son with an inheritance that He wants to bestow upon me. Knowing who you are in God will bring a power to your life to break through every obstacle. As Kris Vallotton says, “You are destined to win!” However, you have to join the battle. You have to grab your sword, throw on some armor and rush headlong into the fray. Knowing and trusting that our heavenly Father is in you, upon you and all around you! Trust in Him and He will make “your justice and right as the shining sun of the noonday!”
